FAQS

HOW MUCH DOES AN INSTALLATION OF A EV CHARGING POINT COST?

The cost depends on the type of property, the type of the network or even the type of charging point. If you want to know an estimated cost feel free in contact us.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?

Time of recharge depends on three key factors:

  • Charger Capacity in kWh
  • Percent Battery Charge
  • Power Source in kW

The easy way to estimate the time e it takes for an EV fill-up is up to 80% of battery charge. You should divide the battery capacity’s kWh number by the onboard charger’s power rating, then add 10 percent to the losses associated with charging.

HOW MUCH POWER DO I NEED TO RECHARGE MY VEHICLE?

It is possibly the most common question among who are thinking of purchasing an electric vehicle. The answer is quite simple, how long do you need it take to be fully charged?

Most of the people living in big cities do not usually do more than 100 km a day. Keeping in mind the average consumption of an electric vehicle is around 15-22 kWh / 100km depending on the type of driving, a good recommendation would be to estimate the necessary power to charge the vehicle in approximately 6 hours, corresponding to the period of cheapest domestic electricity rate.

CAN I RECHARGE MY VEHICLE AT A DOMESTIC OUTLET OR SCHUKO?

It can if the electrical installation of Schuko socket complies with the ITC-BT-52 regulations, although it is not recommended.

Schuko sockets are not prepared to withstand continuous high intensity for a long period of time which can burn out and the integrity of the batteries is affected.

DO I HAVE TO ASK THE NEIGHBORS COMMUNITY FOR PERMISSION TO INSTALL A CHARGING POINT?

No, you only should notify.

CAN I INSTALL A CHARGING POINT WITHOUT HAVING AN OWN METER?

Just in case the parking administration allows you to connect to their meter. Probably they will ask to install a secondary meter to be able to re-bill the energy consumption at the end of the month.

The second and most recommended option is to request a new supply point, even if you must pay two electricity bills (home and recharging point).
